Project Title: Augmented Reality – A Game Changing Technology For Manufacturing Processes
Manufacturing the cutting edge products that enable the deployment of 5G at volume requires Ciena to develop
innovative solutions for their own supply chain and raise the bar towards Industry 4.0 also known as Smart
Manufacturing. Ciena and the METRICS Lab will investigate Augmented Reality applications within multiple manufacturing
process areas that could bring valuable improvements in terms of higher quality, faster learning & training, less
repair & rework, faster throughput using more efficient remote support, which will yield a higher return on
investment
